  • Solution-focused discussion to
    • identified barriers to producing good quality of life research
    • developed and prioritized strategies for overcoming those barriers
  • Dr. Anna Barker, Deputy Director, NCI, presented on how NCI is Shaping Quality of Life for Brain Tumor Patients Through Science and Technology
  • The "clarity and content of the agenda was excellent" according to participants
  • Recognition from all involved that TMF has the presence to influence thinking and achieve tangible, relevant outcomes

This meeting supported in part by MGI Pharma, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eisai Corporation of North America

Next Steps

Participants agreed on four key areas that must be addressed in order to improve quality of research and funding:

  1. Define quality of life
  2. Bridge lack of clinical and practitioner buy-in
  3. Increase QOL funding
  4. Overcome the disconnect between clinicians and researchers

TMF looks forward to taking a leadership role in supporting and implementing next steps and strategies to further the discussion to support improved quality of life for patients with brain tumors.

Thank you to the Philadelphia Phillies for sharing Citizens Bank Ballpark with TMF.

According to participants, "The ballpark rocked!"
